Died in transit from Sabah. ;
Skin was previously labeled as USNM 396657, Sundasciurus lowii. Was found in a hold up case in the Imaging Office hallway in 2017, with notes regarding confusion over its identification. At the time of discovery, USNM 396657 (skin) was already in the collection, and a skin for USNM 396667, a Tupaia, was missing from the collection. Both of these specimens are from NZP. According to the catalog, both numbers should have a skin, so the database was updated to reflect that 396667 also has a skin (previously only skull and skeleton.)
