Notes:
The syrinx staining protocol that was used is based on Taylor & Van Dyke (1988) with some modifications following the steps listed below: - Dehydratation in alcoholic series: 70%, 96% e100% (12 h each solution); - Solution of Alcian blue: 1g de Alcian blue per 100ml solution of 40% acetic acid glacial and 60% alcohol 96% (24h); - Saturated solution of sodium borate for neutralized acidity of da Alcian blue solution (12h); - Solution of Alizarina red S in ethanol 96% (12h) - Maintain the material in ethanol 70%.
