At some point there must have been a mix up with the lots, USNM 122275 and 120886 and likely another unknown lot. This is known by the specimen count. 12 specimens were found in 122275, two of which were specimens with Linen Tag numbers possibly belonging to USNM 120886 it is believed due to the fact that there was an identification tag in the jar of 120886 with the two linen tag numbers 5380 and 5381. After the two linen tag lots were removed from 122275 the count is 10 which is what it should be. USNM 120886 has 12 specimens for the count and that is what is in the jar which means at some point two specimens from an unknown lot were added to it or the Identification tag was erroneously put into the wrong jar because if we would add the two specimens with the Linen Tags the count for that lot would then come to 14 which doesn't agree with the ledger. It has been decided that the two specimens with Linen Tags will be given a new catalog number USNM 427791.
