Gray gives the refernce of Flower, P.Z.S. 1864 [Flower, W. H. (1865). "On a new species of Grampus (Orca meridionalis) from Tasmania." Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 1864:420-429.] In consulting Flower's persponal copy of Gray (1866) which I have, is the note: "Not a word of this in "P.Z.S. 1864"! It is made up in Dr. Gray's own words of some rough notes & a drawing of the sternum in my sketch book which I showed him after my return!"
