# NASA data for MIL 07663 Weathering: A Fracturing: A Fa: 1-36 mol % Fs: 22-53 mol %
Brown/black fusion crust with shiny patches covers 95% of this meteorite's exterior surface. The interior is a gray to tan matrix with white and dark gray inclusions and tan clasts.
The section shows a groundmass of comminuted pyroxene and plagioclase (up to 0.5 mm). A single diogenitic clast reaches 5 mm and dominates most of the section examined. A mm-sized carbonaceous chondrite clast is also present. Most of the pyroxene is orthopyroxene with compositions ranging from Fs₂₂₋₅₃Wo₁₋₄ (most Fs₂₀₋₃₀), a single pigeonite of Fs₄₁Wo₆ and an olivine of Fa₁₋₃₆ (with the Fa₁ in the carbonaceous clast). The meteorite is a howardite.
