"showed to me by Ralph J. Bailey. On investigation it was seen that the colony was well established and had been there for at least two years! Noone in the Botany Dept was aware of this accidental introduciton. The snails were imported on Elodea plants - either from Cincinnati (Bryon) or from Philadelphia (Denniston). (Possibly imported by Dr. Kraus who was formerly in the Bot. Dept. here)." JPEM 4839, NMNH #1611754 JPEM 4840, NMNH #1611757 (dead) JPEM 4841, NMNH #1611758 (poor, dead)
