Anchor Cove Marina, Washington, United States, North America, North Pacific Ocean
Collection Date:
5 Apr 2019
Notes:
Collection data was inconsistent between sources (specimen labels, BOLD student portal, and a google sheet shared by the PI, James Dimond). When asked for clarification, James indicated that the google sheet should be most reliable, so the EMu and GEOME collection event records reflect that source. The data from BOLD and the specimen labels are as follows: BOLD: Site: Anchor Cove Marina; Date: null/null/2019; Lat/long: 48.5189, -122.623; Depth (m): 0.5; Collectors: James Dimond Label: Site: Anchor Cove Marina; Date: 4/5/2019; Lat/long: null; Depth(m): null; Collectors: null
Specimens from UWW were collected and fixed in 10% formalin in April/May 2019. They were shipped to Smithsonian in May 2019 and presumably transferred out of falcon tubes into archival glassware at that time. Upon return to the office after the COVID-19 Pandemic in March/April 2022, Mark found the specimens in the BOEM office, half of which were still in formalin, including this specimen. The specimen was swapped into 70% ethanol in December 2022 with transfer into seawater, 50% seawater, DI water, 30% ethanol, and 70% ethanol.
