USNM numbers were assigned in the field for each specimen in the lot, but they were never separated out and are not distinguishable from each other in the jar or in the photo. The specimens are housed in the collection as one lot with one USNM number (generally the first in the series), and the additional records have been retained with a specimen count of 0 so that they will still be returned in a search for StreamCode records or their original USNM designation. The physical voucher lot serves as a paravoucher for any DNA records derived from the lot, because there is no way to match each DNA to any particular specimen in either the jar or the photo.
