Description:
This object is part of the Education and Outreach collection, some of which are in the Q?rius science education center and available to see.
Notes:
A carved wooden doll made by the Kuna people of Panama. The doll has no arms and is wrapped in a cloth dress and headscarf. There are three separate segments of fabric sewn together to serve as the doll's clothing. Lowermost is a blue cloth with a fish design, in the middle is an orange and black geometric design, and the headscarf is composed of red fabric with a yellow geometric design. The wood is very light and crudely carved, with many gouges.
