Photograph and fragmentary material of type specimen ex herb. Philadelphia Acad.
Panicum nitidum var. minor Vasey: protologue cites no collections or specimens, except "Florida"; based (at least in part) on "P. ramulosum of Chapman's supplement, but I think cannot be the plant of Michx." Re-published (with same data) in Contr. U.S. Natl. Herb. 3: 30 (1892). Panicum baldwinii Nutt. ex Chapm. (1897) is apparently based, at least in part, on the same name and specimens; Panicum baldwinii Nutt. ex Scribn. (1898) is either a later homonym or isonym (apparently also based, in part, on same material).
