Typification of this name is confusing but neither US specimen may be type material. Both US sheets appear to be (paratype? syntype?) specimens collected 18 March 1833. The protologue suggests that the type collection is Ducke 23769, collected in flower (and without foliage) in May 1933; otherwise both collections are syntypes.
