Introduction (p. 3) indicates holotypes from this publication are at US: "The study set of these collections is deposited in the Herbarium of the University of California, but the actual types of those species based on the Wulsin Expedition collections are in the United States National Herbarium." Merrill surely intended this specimen (To et al. 12692) as the holotype, but cites a second collection without explicitly indicating which is the type: "The same species is apparently represented by Levine & McClure's no. 6915 from Wa Shui Tai". The first collection cited is a Wulsin Expedition collection (and the US sheet bears Merrill's "TYPE OF:" annotation label as with the other holotypes from this publication) and is here interpreted as the type.
