Fragmentary material of type specimen ex herb. Vienna. Hackel described var. effusus with 2 subvarieties (!): subvar. submuticus & subvar. aristatus, both apparently based on several collections (syntypes) although only subvar. aristatus cites any collections explicitly. Syntypes of both subvarieties are included on this sheet. I'm not recording or recognizing these subvarieties because let's face it, splitting a variety into subvarieties is just plain nuts.
