From Card: "Label: This helmet is composed of silver, studded with bosses of steel. An ornamental figure of cast brass in the form of a winged dragon is placed over the visor; from the sides of the helmet is suspended a leather cape embroidered in silver and gold thread, and lined with embroidered silk. . . presented to William Zantzinger, in 1858, by the Japanese Ambassador, and was given to the National Museum by his son, Daniel Webster Zantzinger."
