Notes:
From card: "Porcelain, Kutani or Kaga ware. Form: A flaring bell—shaped body covered with an ivory white glaze. Decorated with designs in gold on a deep red ground, except two circular medallions enclosing in one two figures in gold and colored costumes, and in the other a spray of roses in gold and colors. Mark: “Kutani” in gold. Japanese characters on a red ground, on the bottom."
There is some number confusion about this cup. It is marked with number 75149, and the catalog card also gave it number 75149. However, at some point, someone changed the number on the card to 75150, despite the fact that this would not match the number on the object or the ledger entry (which is for an unrelated archaeology object from Palestine). Presumably this number change was done to distinguish the cup from another object also marked with the same number 75149 (a similar small dish from Japan, now E75149-0). However, the ledger book seems pretty clear that there are 2 items with catalog number 75149, and both are marked with this number. Furthermore, changing it to 75150 creates a duplicate entry with A75150. Therefore, the cup should be tracked with its original number, 75149, and it will be tracked as E75149-1 (to distinguish it from the dish, E75149-0).
