BASKETRY SKIRT IS DONE IN RIGHT-ANGLE PLAITING. TWO ENDS OF SKIRT CONSIST OF LOOSE UNWOVEN STRANDS OF FIBER. ALONG 2 OUTSIDE EDGES OF GARMENT AND DOWN CENTERARE DESIGN IN BLUE, PURPLE AND RED DYED FIBER. DESIGN FORMED BY DIFFERENT BANDS OF COLORED FIBER CREATING COLORED BANDS. AT ENDS OF GARMENT TRIANGLE PATTERNS CREATED W/ COLORED AND NON-COLORED FIBERS. MARIE-HELENE SACHET (COLLECTOR) ATTRIBUTES SKIRT TO CENTRAL CAROLINE ISLANDS. ACCORDING TO ADRIENNE KAEPPLER (CURATOR OF ETHNOLOGY) THE SKIRT IS MADE FROM HIBISCUS AND BANANA FIBERS.
