From card: "Wedge shaped of grey slate, slightly chipped off at the back end. Said to be of Eastern Polynesia type, distinguished by the tang; later Maori types lacked this feature. Ref. Duff: "Moa Hunters". When brought in by Dr. G.A. Cooper, Paleontology Div. 5/20/50, the specimen had a tag on it saying "Found in a field near Gore N. Zealand, about 1880, by John Bell, Trocadero 18, Habana." Transferred from Archaeology, March 1964."
