Information from Leonid Lantsman, 2014: 19th C. Ottoman Turkish trousse set of two Persian kard daggers. Larger Kard dagger is mounted with correct oversized walrus ivory grip scales. Metal mounts are inlaid with gold koftgari in floral motifs. The ricasso of the watered wootz steel blade is overlaid with koftgari in traditional Persianate designs with a dove. The smaller knife appears to have bone scales and displays a less prominent watered pattern. The scabbard is Ottoman provincial work, likely eastern Anatolia and is mounted with chased and repoussed silver fittings decorated with Ottoman floral motifs.
