LARGE PIECE OF WHITE BARK CLOTH WITH BROWN RUBBED ON DESIGNS FROM A "UPETI" DESIGN BOARD. THE BARK CLOTH HAS WIDE WHITE BORDERS ON THREE SIDES. HAS ORIGINAL PEALE; ALSO OLD SHIPPING TAG READS, "B[ARRE]L NO 1 TAPA FROM SAMOA NOV 1839, RECD JUNE 18 1840 VIA BOSTON [SHIP]". EXAMINED AND SAMPLED BY KENNETH P. EMORY, BISHOP MUSEUM, JUNE 1941.
