From card: "Called Kuditchi shoes [i.e. Kurdaitcha shoes] (see Spencer and Gillen, - Native fibers of Central Australia, p. 477, fig. 96, with references). Doctor Curl says they are made of emu feathers matted together with human blood. Used in ceremonial witchcraft and supposed to give the wearer power to kill his enemy (See Sydney Mus. Rep.). The tops are in various materials and colors of loose yarn "in coiled weaving of half hitches, without formation.""
