FROM CARD: "MADE OF ELEVEN TUBES OF CAN OF GRADUATED LENGTHS ARRANGED IN A ROW, THEIR OPEN ENDS IN A LINE AND LASHED BETWEEN TWO SPLINTS OF CAN. THEIR BORES VARY FROM 5-5/8 TO 15-1/2 INCHES AND THEIR DIAMETERS FROM 5/16 TO 7/16 INCH. BLOWN ACROSS THEIR ENDS. SCALE OF 23.840. (SEE SCALE DRAWING ON OLD CARD) THE ABOVE WAS TAKEN BY DR. ERICH M. VON HORNBOSTEL WITH HIS TONOMETER, DEC. 1, 1906. THE 4TH PIPE GIVEN BETWEEN E AND F. ONLY 7 OF ORIGINAL 11 FOUND IN STORAGE 2/24/69."
