See p. 30 in Dall, William Healey, 1878, "On the Remains of Later Pre-Historic Man Obtained from Caves in the Catherina Archipelago, Alaska Territory, and Especially from the Caves of the Aleutian Islands." Smithsonian Contributions to Knowledge,vol. 22, Article VI, no. 318. Mask model E16268 is described there as "... model of a mask made by an old man at Kadiak, and presented to the National Museum by Mr. Sheeran." Dall identifies Sheeran, on p. 27 of this publication, as "United States Collector of Customs for the port of Kadiak, Mr. L. Sheeran."
