Notes:
FROM CARD: "11170 A & B. BROWN CENTER, DRESS BLANKET. TWO ITEMS HAVE BEEN FOUND WITH THIS NUMBER, A RECTANGULAR TWILL BLANKET, BROWN WITH BLUE STRIPES AT EITHER END; AND A SMALL BLANKET FRAGMENT, BROWN TWILL, WHICH HAS BEEN ATTACHED TO A PUEBLO MUD-HEAD KATCHINA MASK. BOTH APPEAR TO BELONG TO THE SAME ACCESSION, EVEN IF THE NUMBER 11170 ON THE FRAGMENT IS INCORRECT. THEY HAVE THEREFORE BEEN GIVEN SUFFIXES A & B. PIECE B, THE FRAGMENT, HAS NOT BEEN REMOVED FROM THE MASK. THE MASK HAS NO CATALOG NUMBER AND WAS POSSIBLY MADE IN THE MUSEUM FOR EXHIBIT PURPOSES, AT WHICH TIME THE BLANKET FRAGMENT WAS ATTACHED. THE MASK NOW HAS #T-17204.L.L.E. [Linda L. Eisenhart] 1982." FROM SECOND CARD FOR MASK, FORMERLY THIS NUMBER, BUT WHICH IS NOW # ET17204: "CLOTH MASK, ZUNI OR HOPI. HEAVY CLOTH MADE INTO THE ROUGH SHAPE OF A HEAD, WITH EYES, NOSE AND MOUTH FORMED BY PUCKERINGS OF THE CLOTH, AND ALSO EARS PLUS ANOTHER ROUND BALL IN THE MIDDLE OF FOREHEAD AND ON TOP OF THE HEAD. PAINTED BRICK RED, AND FROM THE BOTTOM HANGS A PIECE OF DARK BROWN HEAVY BLANKET. THOUGH THIS SPECIMEN BEARS THE NUMBER IN WHITE IN OLD FORM, IT MUST BE A WRONG NUMBER BECAUSE CARD CALLS FOR A BLANKET, AND NEARBY CARDS AND THE OTHER HUNDREDS FOR THE THIRD DIGIT IN THE 11,000 SERIES DO NOT CHECK. 10/25/55-R. ELDER."
