Original Catalog Number: 2817 Style: Craig B Raw Material 2: Busycon Element: Apical & upper body portion Alteration: Weathered Manufacturing Notes: Apical hole, sketchy execution. Surface Modification: Incised Symbols: Dragon-like thing, snake body, forked eye, barred oval, antlers. Residue: 3 kinds are thick on inner surface: white calcareous, red powdery, shell filled gray sediment. Also single shell disc bead .63 diam x .35 length. Use Trace: Scoured inner surf. Comments: Weird animal w/ tail on left and 6 heads spread along its body which curves down and then up to the right. 1st & last head have open snouts, forked eyes and antlers. inner heads have ears, protruding tongues. All heads have neck collars of brick bead work. dashed lines on neck parts suggest hair. Barred ovals strung out along snake body. Bead is fastened on copper wire which is threaded through he apical hole.
