From Card: "Terra cotta. Head of a satyr with horns and pug nose. Chin is extended and furnished (?) for pouring oil in lamp. Filled in orifice in forehead. Excellent work. Handle at side. Forgery? 10/15/58. Fanny Bonajuto of Dumbarton Oaks says, "The ear is painted downwards: a mistake which could hardly have been made by a Roman modelling the head of a Satyr.""
