Possibly misnumbered. Object is a string of beads. The ledger book says 15541 should be feather fans (and these fans are in the collection, E15541). So there should not be an A15541, and there is no card for this number either. So perhaps it is misnumbered. However, the beads are mounted on a board with the catalog number (15541), donor (Miss Laws), site, etc., written on it. The beads themselves and the writing look very much like A15540. The accession record (3513) says it includes numbers 15523-15540, not 15541. But perhaps this string of beads was added on later, creating the duplicate number, or perhaps it was overlooked/left out when the collection was listed in the ledger book.
