Notes from Ledger Book: "Sepulchral Lamp"
From Card: "Terra cotta. Flat lamp with handle and short brak (?). In center Eagle and female. Jupiter and Io cohabiting. Leolo and Jupiter as a swan. 10/15/58 Fanny Bonajuto of Dumbarton Oaks says, "Leo (?) and Jupiter as a swan"(?) as above handwriting. // card 2. Mold-made lamp with vertical loop handle, short rounded nozzle extending part way across rim, and groove around flat base. Buff clay and orange-red slip. Stamped SEXECHAPR on base. Rim plain. Discus decorated with scene of Zeus (or Jupiter) in form of swan seducing Leda, daughter of Thesttus. Assigned to Type 25, profile 7, fig. 34, in Broneer's classification."
