Carved wooden head, cylindrical, with hair. Bits of the raw wood show in the hair and around the eye.
From donor (about whole set of masks, catalog numbers 436281 through 436887): Miniature Masks, predominantly Dan and Bassa, Liberia. Wood. All collected in Liberia, ca 1970, by Blake Robinson; vetted by William Siegmann, the foremost expert on Liberian art; some vetting numbers remain on back. Each with much use evident in wear and patina.
