Green argillite carving of a char/fish, made by Johnny Meeko, Sr., of Sanikiluaq in the 1970's, and purchased from the Canadian Handicrafts Guild in Toronto by Annette Barrash. The green char and gray base are separate pieces. The char has a wooden peg to attach to the base.This kind of argillite is found only on the Belcher Islands.
