Notes:
Ochun (diety of rivers and fertility) dress and sash. The dress has a skirt and sleeves of gold satin-like material, with a bodice of white brocade with gold stitching and appliqued designs. There are rows of gold sequins at the neck and sleeves. The full skirt has three gold applique designs on the front, with peacock eyes and paste jewels. The sash has the same white brocade with gold stitching and appliques. Given to Michael Mason by Felipe Garcia from Cuba who was a participant at the 1989 Smithsonian Folklife Festival in the program "The Caribbean: Cultural Encounters in the New World."
