L-1231 (Upper St. Louis Chert)
Upper St. Louis is a blue gray to tan chert with strong concentric banding. It has Bryzoan fossils near the cortex. It has a medium to glossy texture. Deposits include nodular to "ball" chert.
Geology remarks: Epoch- Mississippian, Series- Upper St. Louis, Group- Blue River, Form- St. Louis
Location remarks: Putnam, Owen, Monroe, Lawrence, Washington, Crawford, and Harrison counties, Indiana.
