Hookah pipe stem. Wood (or bamboo?) tube, completely covered in red cotton cloth, and wrapped with copper wire and metallic thread.
Wooden hookah pipe stem. (See also catalog numbers E433412-433427 and 433445-433446). Hitchcock collected hooka parts from India, and photos can be found in the National Anthropological Archives, John Hancock Collection, Box 76, "89. project"; Box 68 , 27-d and in film "North Indian Village" (Human Studies Film Archives, 2007.7.5)
