Description (Brief):
Prototype intelligent light emitting diode illumination device. A programmable lighting unit with fifteen light emitting diodes, integrated circuit controllers, and data port, in a metal housing. Unit can produce a wide range of colors, and be programmed to shift colors in any number of timing sequences. See US Patent 6166496, "Lighting entertainment system," filed December 17, 1998, issued December 26, 2000, to Lys Ihor and George G. Mueller.
Adhesive label on back: "Color Kinetics". Chip holder printed: "[M logo] Microchip PIC16C66/JW 9712SAT". Transistor cans printed: "200ECS", "[M logo] 2N3053 K9121" (three of these, also stamped "Korea"), "~9018 LM2490CT -5.0 P+", "P68AD DS96177CN".
