Description:
Mixer with a “SUNBEAM / MIXMASTER” inscription. John K. Stewart and Thomas J. Clark established the Chicago Flexible Shaft Company, which made horse trimming and sheep shearing machinery, in 1897. The firm produced its first Sunbeam branded household appliance in 1910 and changed its corporate name to Sunbeam in 1946. The firm’s head designer, Swedish immigrant Ivar Jepson and Bernard Alton Graham invented the Mixmaster mixer in 1928.
