Description:
An esophagoscope (aka oesophagoscope) is used to examine the inside of an esophagus. This example was made by V. Mueller & Co., manufacturers of surgical instruments. This Chicago firm, begun in 1895 by a German immigrant named Vinzenz Mueller, became a subsidiary of the American Hospital Supply Corp., in 1955.
