Description:
John Uri Lloyd, American pharmacist, developed this apparatus for extracting medicinal fluids from plants without applying heat. Heat, used in distillation and other extraction methods, could alter the properties of the final product. Lloyd patented the device in1904 (US Patent 777,115), calling it a "Concentrator For Solutions."
