Description (Brief):
A black metal spherical case housing an electric motor with a 1/4" drive shaft on one end and the brush assembly with oil cup on the other end. Two terminals on the case appear to be field windings. Mounting brackets are made as part of the frame. A metal tag on one end is marked: "No. 33496 1/12 PS / 110 V. 1/2 A. / ~ 2000 Tour." This motor powers the Gaede mercury vacuum pump (catalog number 330591].
