Description:
Stainless steel cannister with pressure valve on top, and a round paper label that reads “Nupro Company / Willoughby, Ohio.” Frank Sherwood Rowland (1927–2012), the donor, used this for quarterly air sample collection missions for NASA. A professor of chemistry at the University of California, Irvine, and a 1995 Nobel laureate, Rowland found that chlorofluorocarbons contribute to ozone depletion.
