Description:
Condensing tubes are used to cool and liquify vapors. The form did not originate with the German chemist, Justus von Liebig, but was often associated with him. Particularly long and narrow tubes were termed "West." The "Made of Pyrex resistant glass / by S.G.A. Co." inscription on this example is that of The Scientific Glass Apparatus Co., a Bloomfield, New Jersey firm that was founded in 1918.
