Typewritten letter from Beth Slingerland to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Haskell, written on December 8, 1941, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mrs. Slingerland's husband, John, was a crane operator at Pearl Harbor and he was at work on the day that Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese. In this follow up to her letter dated December 7, Mrs. Slingerland describes what she learned from her husband when he returned home that night after the bombing, as well as describing what she has witnessed the day after the bombing from her home in the hills above Pearl Harbor. She includes one hand-written note. The letter is two pages, typed, on onion skin paper and includes the original envelope.
