Description (Brief):
The lithographic firm of Bowen & Company (1859-ca 1871) of Philadelphia produced this hand-colored lithograph of the bird species "Toxostoma Longirostris" (common name Long-billed Thrasher) after an original illustration by William E. Hitchcock (ca 1823-1926) and John Cassin (1813-1869) both of Philadelphia. The image was published as plate XIV in "Zoology of the Boundary" by S. F. Baird (1823–1887), published in Volume 2, Part 2, of the <i>Report on the United States and Mexican Boundary Survey.</i> The volume was printed in 1859 by Cornelius Wendell of Washington, D.C.
