This song book <i>Cowboy Songs as Sung by John White</i> was issued as a premium by the Pacific Coast Borax Co., sponsor of the radio program, <i>Death Valley Days.</i> The cover indicates <i>as sung by John White <i>The Lonesome Cowboy' in Death Valley Days.<i>
Death Valley Days
<i>Death Valley Days <i> was a Western anthology series broadcast on radio from 1930-1951. Stories were introduced by <i>The Old Ranger, <i> portrayed by a succession of actors, originating with Jack MacBryde. It also featured songs by <i>The Lonesome Cowboy, <i> country and western music singer John White. In 1944 the series changed its title to <i>Death Valley Sherriff <i> and later, in1945, <i>The Sherriff,<i>
<i>Death Valley Days <i> transitioned to television in 1952, where it aired until 1970.
