Object Name:
prototype
snurfer prototype, snowboarding
Description (Brief):
In 1972, Brunswick discontinued production of the snurfer but the JEM Corporation continued manufacture until the early 1980s. This Plexiglas board, with pre drilled holes for the bindings now resembles the modern day snowboard with two rounded ends and a flat bottom. This board was custom made for Sherman Poppen and was used for hard pack snow until recently. It is one of the first to be produced by JEM and resembles the original black and yellow striped design of the first snurfer.
