Description:
The Chevron World Challenge is a charity golf event hosted by professional golfer Eldrick "Tiger" Woods (b. 1975.) Except for its first event, held in 1999, the tournament has taken place at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. This trophy was awarded to Woods for his first four Chevron victories; 2001, '04, '05, '07. He won the event again in 2011.
Of the trophy, Woods said, " The design of the trophy is based on his [father Earl Woods'] vision and it serves as a reminder to me of the early days of my Foundation. We started with the simple idea of giving back and thanks to my dad's guidance, it has eveolved into a global mission that has positively affected millions of young lives. I can't help but think of him at this event, which serves as added incentive to ensure I'm at the top of the leader board on Sunday."
