Description:
<p>This horn was made by an unknown maker in Ukraine, 19th century. The accession file lists this as a Rozhok horn. It is made of elder wood with a cow horn bell, with 6 fingerholes and 1 thumbhole.</p>
<p>This instrument was acquired through exchange from the Lubny Museum of Ukraine, in 1896. The Lubny Museum was founded by Katerina Mikolaivna Skarzhynskaya (neƩ Reiser) and her husband N. G. Skarzhynski in 1874. The couple continued to amass collections through 1881. The Lubny Museum was a private museum with free admission. In 1905 the collections were given to the Poltava Regional Museum.</p>
