Description:
Jay Donald Lasher (1929-2022) was a surgeon who served in the U.S. Navy, and then practiced in Erie, Pa. along with his father and brother. He was especially interested in kidneys and dialysis and designed a kidney dialysis monitor. George H. Strong, Research and Development Electrician at Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa., built this artificial kidney monitor to Dr. Lasher's specificiations, and donated it to the Smithsonian in 1968.
