Description:
Bronze medal with ribbon. The obverse has “GILMAN COUNTRY SCHOOL / ROLAND PARK.” The reverse has “TO / JOHN M. T. FINNEY / PATRIOT / WITH LOVE & GODSPEED / FROM THE TRUSTEES FACULTY ALUMNI / AND BOYS / OF / THE GILMAN / SCHOOL / 1917.” John Miller Turpin Finney (1863-1942) was the chief surgical consultant for the Allied Expeditionary Forces in World War I as well as a founder and the first president of the American College of Surgeons, and he operated at The Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
