This pendant is a relatively realistic depiction of a wart hog complete with its tusks and erect tail. It is part of the variety of animal pendants including buffalos, leopards, chameleons and horn bills worn by hunters among the Lobi and neighboring peoples of Burkina Faso.
Description:
Cast copper alloy figure in the form of a wart hog with a large, leather, braided suspension loop projecting from the top.
