This mbira is more for playing than aesthetic review. The keys feel good in your hands. This is not surprising considering the source of the instrument. Paul Berliner is an important twentieth century ethnomusicologist in the fields of African music and jazz. His popular book -- The Soul of Mbira: music and traditions of the Shona people of Zimbabwe -- received the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award.
