Description:
Silver alloy hair ornament bead, that would have been strung with amber, carnelian and other beads and dangled on a cord from either side of the head. The bead is hollow and roughly almond shaped, with two halves soldered together and each end crested with tiny bands of metal. The bead is decorated in an overall raised dot, repousse design with applied spherical projections.

Marian Johnson, purchased in Dakar, Senegal, 1963-late 20th century to 2012
